What Is It About Rain That Makes It So Hard To Workout?

We’re having one of our infamous “Flash Floods” here in New Mexico. It goes like this: It’s a perfect, sunshiny day (my friend Elisa and I had a picnic lunch two hours ago), and now, it’s raining so hard, there’s a river going down my street. There’s thunder, there’s lightning, the gang’s all here.

Welcome to New Mexico.

It’s sad, really. I was planning on doing yet another day in my new 3o Day Shred workout (ugh. Jillian Michaels is TOUGH!). Now, I’m wanting to just cuddle up on the couch and read a book. I do not want to go change into my shorts and sneakers now.

Has anyone else done the 30 Day Shred? Or a DVD program similar to it? I’ve decided I have problems sticking with a regular workout. Usually, I’m doing a really good when I get four days in a week. But on rainy weeks?

Not so much.

But, I’m going to try my best. Then, after a nice hot shower, I’m going to make Butternut Squash soup and enjoy this cool evening.

What about you guys? What are you up to tonight? 🙂

  1. I've attempted the 30 Day Shred. It's great isn't it? I never finished 30 days in a row, but I had noticed a difference right away. Good luck Erynn, and don't phone it in!

  2. Geez, I just commented on another blog who talked about the 30 Day Shred. This DVD is everywhere! The problem with DVD's for me is that I get tired of them really quickly. I always need something new and fresh.

That said, I am thinking of really trying this program. It always gets such great reviews!

  3. I did the Shred and I love it! It was hard and kicked my butt, but I really noticed a difference in muscle tone. The only downside is that I haven't done it in about a month and I can tell…

  4. I recommend hot yoga. The class I go to is 90 minutes long and consists of breathing techniques, stretching, balancing, and tones almost your entire body. You will sweat like never before but you feel fantastic afterwards when you leave the studio and your pores are attacked by the cold air. You should try it! I'm loving it!

  5. Ok, so I've never heard of the 30 Day Shred, but my thing is Wii Fit. I get the feeling there's groans happening. We bought it in February, and were seeing & feeling results within the month. The nice thing is it monitors your body changes and there's variety. You could do Yoga one day & balance games the next.
My other thing – Fit Flops. They really do work! I didn't workout for a month or so, but wore them everyday around the house. Next time I weighed in I'd maintained my weight, and if you knew me, that sooo doesn't happen if I don't workout.
